The soundtrack to Godzilla: Final Wars was first released on December 2004 to accommodate with the film's release. It was then re-released on the Godzilla Perfect Soundtrack Collection Box Set #6 in early 2010. This re-release featured tracks that were unreleased on the first soundtrack. While the first soundtrack featured 29 tracks, the complete soundtrack featured 91 tracks all together.

Keith Emerson was only given two weeks to write the score of the film however, only a small percentage of his score made it to the final cut of the film.[1] Director Ryuhei Kitamura's regular soundtrack collaborators, Nobuhiko Morino and Daisuke Yano, were later tapped to complete the rest of the film's score.

Unlike previous Godzilla soundtracks, this soundtrack features elements of Breakbeat and Electronic Rock mixed with orchestral elements. The Punk Rock bands Sum 41 and Zebrahead contributed the songs We're All to Blame and Godzilla vs. Tokyo to the film respectively however, neither song appears on the official soundtrack.
